When I tell people that we can deliver their dream custom home in just six months, I often see a mix of excitement and skepticism. How is it possible to build a fully customized home so quickly when traditional construction takes a year or more? The answer lies in our unique parallel construction process that maximizes efficiency while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Let me walk you through exactly what happens from the moment you sign your contract to the day you receive your keys.
Phase 1: The Factory Build (Months 1-4)
While your neighbors building traditional homes are still waiting for permits and dealing with weather delays, your home is already taking shape in our climate-controlled factory. This four-month period is where the magic of modular construction really shines.
In our factory, skilled craftsmen work on your home’s modules using precision tools and standardized processes that simply aren’t possible on a construction site. Every wall is perfectly square, every joint is precisely cut, and every system is installed under ideal conditions. Your electrical, plumbing, and insulation are all completed to exact specifications, protected from weather and human error.
But here’s the real advantage: while your home is being built in the factory, we’re simultaneously preparing your property for its arrival.
Phase 2: Site Preparation (Concurrent with Factory Build)
During those same four months your modules are being constructed, our site crews are busy preparing your foundation and property. We clear the land, excavate as needed, and build your foundation.
This parallel approach means we’re essentially building your home in two places at once. By the time your modules are ready for delivery, your foundation is cured and ready to receive them. There’s no waiting around for weather to cooperate or for the next available crew—everything is synchronized perfectly.
Phase 3: Module Delivery and Set (Day 1 of Site Work)
The day your modules arrive on-site is always exciting for our clients. Watching a crane carefully position your complete home sections onto the foundation is something you’ll never forget. In just one day, what looks like an empty lot transforms into a nearly complete house.
Each module is precisely positioned and secured to create your custom floor plan. The structural connections between modules are made with the same engineering standards that make modular homes actually stronger than their site-built counterparts.
Phase 4: Site Completion (Months 5-6)
Once your modules are set, we begin the final phase of construction—what we call site work. This is where all the pieces come together to create your finished home.
Our crews connect all utilities to your local systems, whether that’s hooking up to municipal services or connecting to your well and septic. The HVAC system is completed on site as one of the later trades.
Interior trim work adds those finishing touches that make your house feel like home. We install your chosen flooring, complete any custom millwork, and add all the personal touches that make your home uniquely yours.
If your design includes additional structures like porches, decks, or detached garages, these are built during this final phase. Since these elements are constructed using traditional methods, they integrate seamlessly with your modular home, and most people can’t tell where the factory-built portions end and the site-built elements begin.
This is also when any custom material choices or special add-ons that were not installed at the factory are installed by our on site crews. Whether it’s a custom kitchen backsplash, specialty lighting fixtures, or unique architectural details, we handle all these personalized elements with the same attention to detail that goes into every aspect of your home.

The Impresa Advantage: Precision Meets Personalization
What sets our process apart isn’t just the speed—it’s the quality control that comes from factory construction combined with the flexibility of custom design. Every home we build is unique to our client’s vision, but the construction process ensures consistent, superior quality.
Weather delays that can add months to traditional construction? Not an issue when the bulk of your home is built indoors. Material delays and cost overruns that plague site-built projects? Minimized through our controlled factory environment and established supplier relationships.
By the time you move in, you’re getting a home that’s been built under ideal conditions, inspected at every stage, and customized to your exact specifications—all in about half the time it would take to build the same home using traditional methods.
