Ranch floor plans make up the majority of the most popular floor plans across the country. The ranch style home, or rambler, is a classic style that is almost synonymous with one story living. There are just so many options available that offer space for entertainment and living. Ranch floor plans are just practical. With all of the living space on one floor there are no steps to navigate or stairways to take up floor space. Because one story homes offer all of the space on a single floor, they typically require larger building lots. It just takes more land to build out instead of up. In addition, ranch floor plans require more roof and foundation making their convenience slightly more expensive than other home plan options. Many outdoor options for decks, patios, and porches enhance the character of single story homes that can make them great options for everyone.
